Saif Ali Khan Out On A Movie Date With Kareena Kapoor Khan Amidst Backlash On His Statement On History Of India
Our shutterbugs spotted power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor stepping out for a movie date. Saifeena took some time off from their busy schedules and were spotted together at a theatre in Mumbai.
Saif Ali Khan never minces words and while he shares his thoughts openly, he makes sure to articulate them well. But this time around, he seems to have gotten into trouble for his latest statement on the history of India. Saif Ali Khan recently became a part of Ajay Devgn's period-drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero and depicted the bravery of Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare. While the film is doing very well at the box office, Saif feels that facts were distorted for cinematic gain. He also spoke about the concept of India for which he is getting slammed on Twitter. However, unaffected with all that, Saif took some time out from his busy schedule to go on a movie date with wifey Kareena Kapoor.
Our shutterbugs spotted the power-couple in Mumbai at a movie theatre. While Saif Ali Khan kept it casual in a green plain t-shirt and jeans, Kareena kept it easy-breezy in a floral dress. Both of them looked pretty cool and were in a good mood to pose for the paps. We missed Taimur though in the pictures. Saif has had a very busy schedule for the past few days as he has been promoting Tanhaji and we are guessing that he took his wifey out to make her watch the period-drama. When your student gives a duffer answer but teacher gives full marks. No wonder this stupid Film Critic refused to review #TheTashkentFiles and now is unhappy with the success of @ajaydevgn’s #Tanhaji pic.twitter.com/QmoYh2lQfK
Dear Saif Ali Khan,

Even 2300 years ago, the Greek ambassador Megasthenes in the court of Chandragupta Maurya recorded his memoirs in a book called "Indika"
And you think there was no concept of "India" before the British.
Suits the IQ level expected from Bollywood.
"There wasn't a concept of India till British came..." : Saif Ali Khan (supposedly, a history buff)

Next, he will say
"There wasn't a concept of Bharat till Bharat Bhushan was born"
Coming back to his quote on history and India, in an interview with Anupama Chopra, Saif said, "For some reason, I didn’t take a stand. Maybe next time I would. I was very excited to play the role because it’s a delicious role. But when people say this is history, I don’t think this is history. I am quite aware of what the history was. I don’t think there was a concept of India till perhaps the British gave it one. I don’t think there is really any constructive point in arguing about loudly, provided you yourself know why you’re doing it." For this, he got slammed on Twitter with one user saying, "There wasn't a concept of India till British came..." : Saif Ali Khan (supposedly, a history buff) Next, he will say. There wasn't a concept of Bharat till Bharat Bhushan was born."
